Cape Breton County is located on the eastern side of Cape Breton Island within the province of Nova Scotia, Canada.
In 1995 the Municipality of the County of Cape Breton was amalgamated with eight other incorporated municipalities including Sydney, Glace Bay, Dominion, New Waterford, Sydney Mines, North Sydney, Louisbourg to form the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. The CBRM is the second largest municipality within the province of Nova Scotia.
