In the event of a car accident, call the police, even if the accident is minor. Stay at the scene of the accident until the police have arrived. If someone is injured, dial 911 for medical help. Turn on your hazard lights to warn other motorists. Be sure to exchange contact and insurance information with the other driver. Call your insurance company as soon as possible to report the accident. If you can, make notes about the damage to both vehicles, and make a sketch of the accident scene. If possible, take a photograph of the scene.
